Community Outreach Program
Why
Outreach
Our ministry has started a community outreach program in Kitale. We have felt led to help as many children in the community who have disabilities as we can. The children in our outreach program qualify for our services if their families are able to provide for many of their basic needs but may need a bit of help when providing for their medical needs. These families often continue to struggle to provide quality medical care for their children, so our ministry will help fill the gap and meet their needs as best as we can (i.e. therapy, any necessary surgeries, routine wellness visits, etc.). As our ministry is still growing, we will serve one child at a time as the Lord leads and guides us. Prayerfully, we will have the opportunity to lay a foundation of truth in the lives of these families- rooted in the overwhelming, unconditional love of our Father.
Community Outreach Children
Jacob
Jacob is 9 and celebrates his birthday on August 7. He has sickle cell anemia. When he came into our program in the summer of 2021, he was extremely malnourished and very, very sick. He has been receiving ongoing supplements and medications to strengthen his little body, and he also receives daily medicines to aid in his sickle cell anemia. Will you join us in prayer and support of our precious Jacob?
Gift
Gift is 6 years old and has spastic hemiplegia affecting the left side of his body due to birth asphyxia. He lives with his single mama and siblings, and his mother struggles to provide the medical care and therapy he needs to grow and thrive.
Mama Gift is raising four children on her own after being abandoned by her husband. To help support her family, she works as a caregiver for elderly members of her community. The family lives in a small home and faces significant financial challenges.
This mama would benefit greatly from Christian counseling, encouragement in self-worth and confidence, and support in parenthood. She also needs guidance and practical strategies to help build long-term economic stability through small business and income-generating skills.
Ken
Ken is 7 years old and is deaf. He lives with his mother, father, and two siblings in a very rural area where the family struggles to provide for his medical care and ongoing needs. Despite these challenges, Ken is now attending a school for the deaf and is thriving. He is learning Kenyan Sign Language, building confidence, and making many new friends at school.
His father works as a security guard during the day to help support the family, but resources remain limited.
Mama would benefit from Christian counseling, encouragement in self-empowerment, and support in parenthood. She also needs guidance and practical strategies to help build long-term economic sustainability through small business and income-generating skills.
Michael
Michael is 9 years old and has nerve damage affecting one of his arms. He lives with his mama and siblings, and the family struggles to provide the therapy and medical care he needs to continue growing and thriving.
Mama Michael is a single mother raising two children, including Michael and his younger sister. To help make ends meet, she takes on casual work such as selling sweets, peanuts, and other small items on the streets. Despite her hard work, the family continues to face significant financial challenges.
